Hm Interview: Dj D
djdinterview.jpg

Edited by Saluzz.

13. Parliamo dell'hardcore italiana: come consideri il movimento e i party people italiani?

Difficile dire cosa accadrà in futuro.

Ciao a tutti ragazzi e sempre HARDCORE you pussy motherfuckerzz!

Diego Buffoni a.k.a. Dj D leaves the hardcore scene.
This news make a strong impact to those who love and follow this music from many years.
The creator of one of the top label in the scene, known as Harcore Blasters, has decided to give us an exclusive interview about his decision.
1. Everyone heard that Diego Buffoni leaves the scene through your Facebook page, and we all have been really shocked and surprised.
After all these years with great productions and performances at party all over the world , it’s a big misfortune to those who grew up with your music and the Hardcore Blasters label.
Is there a particular reason about your decision?

The reason is simple.I’ve alwalys wanted to make things good, and if you want to do so, you need time. Unfortunately,I didn’t have time anymore to keep the A level required to be a dj/producer as i would.

Now, for work reasons (I’m one of the few lucky italian young guy that has a stable/good job) and family reasons, I would have left music in a second row, and this is not what I'd like to do.
I think is better to stop at the right time.

2. Has it been a decision you took during the last years or an unexpected one?
I’d say during the last 1-2 years, but I thought deeply and carefully about it.

3. Will you stay in the music scene with other projects or you say goodbye to everything?
I think that an artist, a real producer that loves music, whatever kind of music it is, does not leave it completely.
For the tome being, I don’t have projects ongoing, but I think that something will come out in the future.

4. What was your label’s collegues reaction? And the others?
My label’s collegues were really surprised and they supported me during this change phase.
The others had different reactions: someone was indeed sad but knowing me they understood my position, some didn't really care.

5. How do you see the future for the label, now owned by Rayden?
I’m sure that I built, with the help of the executive producer Simone Gritti, something special that i can say was out of the schemes. The important points were set years ago, and the international crew in whom I’ve always believed was also created.
I think Rayden is the best one to keep up this project, that it’s still booming and fresh.

6. Do you have any regrets about your career?
Absolutely not. I’ve been lucky to play at great parties and travelled everywhere. Should I have any?

7. Is there the possibility that Dj D will release an hardcore track in the future?
A new track, no...That's not possible. I’m thinking with my collegues to release a remix album as collection, but that takes time.

8. Let’s talk about your past, Diego.
How was started your passion for hardcore music and producing?
I was 13 years old. An old tape (that’s how we used to do in those years) of the club Number One that a friend of mine gave to me…
From that moment a new music world opened to me. I bought my first computer when I was 14, and started producing the first “bastards beats” when I was 15.

9. Why did you choose such a particular name, that is just with the first letter of your real name?
Because when I brought in to Simone the first demo, that was included in a compilation, I've git 20 sec to decide my future artist name. Almost anyone had one with just a letter. It was out of schemes and so, it was perfect!

10. Hadcore Blasters was born in the golden years of the hardcore music in Italy.
Since that time it took place among the other labels releasing great music from very good talents. How did the project start? Have you ever thought it would have become a top label?
It all started because of my passion for this music and because of Simone's vision, that belived immidiately in a project that could be a flop…but ,actually, wasn't the case, is it?
At that time, for sure, I would never imagined that Hardcore Blasters could reach the top of the best hardcore labels of the world.

11. Dj D always gave us hardcore music that mixed melody and raw sounds. Did you get inspiration from anyone during the years? Did you get inspiration also from any other singers or band of your musical passion?
Back in the 90’s I loved the progressive sound, that became trance, and then hardtrance. Genarally, dance music always inspired me…but then i heard my first PCP record. Then it was clear to me the kickdrum should be different 

12. What do you consider as the highest point of your career?
2008-2009 for sure, when Gloria was played from everyone in the world. Imagine was a bestseller and I’ve been asked to produce the Dominator anthem. You know the rest ;)

13. Let’s talk about the Italian Hardcore: what do you think about the movement and the italia party people?
I really loved the italian hardcore movement back in the 90’s, then it changed negatively in 2000-2003. In that period was hard to believe what you would have heard. After 4-5 years of bad time and thanks to the help of a tough policy the crowd and the parties came back to be as good as it should be.

14. And... What about the music: How was you relationship with Traxtorm Records, the biggest italian hardcore label, during the years?
I’d say that the relationship has changes during the time.Of course, in the beginning it was difficult for us even to get licensees for our first compilation (the JUMP for those who remember it).
Then, when the quality of production raise, it became easier and more an exchange, All based on respecting each other.
I think that Traxtorm has been really helpfull for the italian HC scene. We need a project like Hardcore Italia...proud to be hardcore, proud to be ITALIANS.

15. How does Dj D think as a 10 year experieced Dj the evolution of the hardcore sound? What do you think the future of this music will be?
Hardcore, as every genre, needs to go through a kind natural evolution, that brought in the last 5 years an enormous quality level into HC. It’s hard to say what will happen, but for sure the build model of kick, break, melody, vocals will have to change…we’ll see what the pioneer of this music will release.

Thanks for you time Diego! A greeting to our community? 
Bye bye guys, and always HARDCORE you pussy motherfuckerzz!!
